Building on the hugely successful LISW17, Shipping Innovation has announced the appointment of a new Chairman and two Vice Chairs of the London International Shipping Week 2019 Steering Group.

John Hulmes (pictured), Chairman of Mersey Maritime, will take over from Jeremy Penn as Chairman of the LISW19 Steering Group, while Mark Jackson, CEO of the Baltic Exchange and Denis Petropoulos, Director of Braemar, will assume the new role of Vice Chair. LISW19 will take place from 9th to 13th September, 2019.

Welcoming the news, Sean Moloney, Director of Shipping Innovation, said the appointment of a new Chair and two Vice Chairs was an important development in furthering the promotion of LISW to all corners of the global maritime industry.

“John, Denis and Mark are highly respected internationally in their fields and their understanding and knowledge of shipping and the maritime industry, and the importance it plays in world trade, will be significant in helping LISW maintain its position as the must attend event in the international shipping calendar,” he said.

LISW17 exceeded expectations with more than 160 industry functions and unique networking opportunities taking place. The event attracted more than 15,000 global shipping decision makers and achieved a global twitter reach of 11.3 million.
