Coltraco Ultrasonics wins Seatrade Cruise Supplier of the Year 2017 Award

UK-based Coltraco Ultrasonics was presented with the Seatrade Cruise Supplier of the Year Award 2017 at the annual CLIA (Cruise Line Industry Association) Dinner in Hamburg on Wednesday.

Carnival Cruise Lines chose Coltraco to supply its fleet with its UL-Listed and ABS approved Portalevel MAX Marine, designed where either third party service companies or the vessels’ crew themselves inspect large fire suppression systems of up to 600 cylinders containing CO2, FM-200 or Novec 1230.

The ease of operation in comparison to weighing, increases the ability of more regular and frequent checks, improving fire safety management onboard.

Carl Hunter, CEO, Coltraco Ultrasonics: “The design stemmed from the Royal Navy and the US Navy to monitor their pressurised Halon systems in case of accidental discharge or leakage from the pressurised cylinders some years ago. We are currently developing new products and systems in watertight integrity and pressurisation monitoring.”

Clare Hunter, Head of Marketing & Communications, Coltraco Ultrasonics: “We are honoured to receive this prestigious award and thank those who recognise the fine work we are doing, working closely with our customers to deliver the Safeship in two key areas of fire safety and watertight integrity.”

Held annually for 11 years, the Seatrade Cruise Awards continue to recognise and reward the very best of international cruise achievement and act as a catalyst for driving the continuous improvement of standards across the industry.

Mary Bond Managing Director for Publishing, Seatrade: “Once again, we have had a staggering number of entries – over 100 – from across the globe.  The calibre of entries was also exceptionally high and I am grateful to the independent panel of judges who spent considerable time deciding the worthy winners.”
